Get Involved…

Come be a part of the creative collaboration here at Rabley Drawing Centre.

Sara Lee is running two courses at Rabley this year. After the success and amazing feedback from her course last year, Sara will be offering you another opportunity to learn about the very specialist Japanese Ukiyo-e method of woodcut printmaking.

NEW EXHIBITION

During her residency Sara will be developing a new body of work and working towards her solo exhibition at Rabley in 2014. She will be working in the print room and drawing on location in the Wiltshire landscape.

A portfolio of work will be published to coincide with her solo exhibition and the London Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy, London in 2014.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sara’s work is rooted in the landscape tradition. Through the mediums of pastel, paint and print she captures the ephemeral nature of site-specific landscapes and questions our emotional and physical relationship to our ever-evolving exterior space.

Previous site-specific projects include her record of the entire Peninsula of Cornwall, where we followed her journey through a series of beautiful works on paper.

Sara Lee has been part of the fine art print community for more than two decades. She collaborated with master printer Hugh Stoneman for more than ten years. Together they developed a gravure practice and co-published, under the imprint Print Centre Publications, including works by Terry Frost RA, Ian McKeever RA and Hamish Fulton. Over many years she has worked closely on etching and woodcut projects with Eileen Cooper RA, with whom she shares a print studio space and imprint Blackbird Editions. She teaches at the Dulwich Picture Gallery, has written for Tate, and advised on print processes for various individuals and institutions including The Art Fund, Hatton Gallery and Tate.
