The Crossing and Passage Through are a pair of beautiful new prints created by Sara Lee  in collaboration with Stoney Road Press, Dublin. Combining woodblock and polymer intaglio etching creates a series of delicate layers of ink which make full use of the woodgrain, so that this becomes an integral part of how the image works. The wood itself has been carefully selected to suggest, for instance, a fast moving sky, a rolling mist or the gentle rippling of water. The images are contemplative and tranquil in mood, suggesting a quality of trancendence, which the artist acknowledges in their titles.

The London Original Print Fair opens next week at The Royal Academy in London and will be open from 25 – 28 April 2013. http://www.londonprintfair.com/
