Meet the Artists

Saturday 21 April

To coincide with our current exhibition at Rabley Gallery, Artists Katherine Jones and Fred Galley will discuss their residencies at Rabley Drawing Centre, walking you through the studio and into the gallery to see their exhibitions – Katherine Jones, ‘The Precious Hours’ and Fred Gatley, ‘The Rabley Series – Ceramics’.

Amy Jane Blackhall will discuss her practice as a printmaker and her major project ‘Everyone is a Moon’ exhibited at Huddersfield Museum and Rabley earlier this year. Blackhall was winner of the Flourish Print Prize 2017. This talk will coincide with her course Experimental Printmaking.

Hokusai's Wave - print by Motoharu Asaka

Japanese Master Woodblock Workshop
with Motoharu Asaka
Monday 14 May

Motoharu Asaka is one a a few master printmakers currently practicing in Japan. This is a unique opportunity to take part in a one day workshop including the a talk by Asaka about his work, see him demonstrate printing of Hokusai’s famous ‘Wave and make a print. (No experience necessary)

Enjoy three days immersed in nature led by artist/naturalist Nik Pollard RCA.The focus of the course will be on painting and drawing in the field, complimented by developing work in the well-equipped drawing and print studio.
