The Experimental Drawing Summer School was an intensive 4-day course encouraging the exploration of drawing through new ‘ways of seeing’.

Over a week of experimenting both out and about and back at the studio, the group produced exciting multi-sensory drawings of varying scales that challenged the perceptions of object, place and space.

Another year has passed and the month of June at Rabley wouldn’t be the same without Nik Pollard’s ‘Drawn to Nature’ course. Eight lucky students were able to immerse themselves for 3 days in the surrounding landscape of wild flower meadows and woodland.

Artist and master printer Sara Lee gave an inspiring insight in to the beautiful, but complex, ukiyo-e Japanese Woodcut method on her 3-day course at Rabley last weekend.

Rabley artist in residence for 2014, Nik Pollard, ran his annual course at Rabley ‘Drawn to Nature’ at the weekend. The weather was fantastic this year (for once!) and this enabled everyone to fully immerse and attune themselves to the surrounding landscape of wild flower meadows and woodland.

Artist, Sue Preston, ran a fascinating course at Rabley last week delving through primed surfaces to reveal, explore, remove and exhaust layers with various means of mark making and drawing.
