Before leaving Delhi for Jaipur we visit Jantar Mantar. Surrounded by busy roads this strange conglomeration of 13 building sized astrological instruments cannot fail to impress.

The journey to Jaipur was slowed by busy traffic but the colourful lorries and villages passed by. Focusing on looking for one colour out of the window made for a new perspective.

Jaipur Pigment Workshop

We sourced pigments from the local market and combined with gum Arabic made paints in the magical colours on India. Everyone had their own palette of each colour in a small earthenware oil lamp.
